Common questions

Where is my data stored?

On your device, in the app's private container. There is no account and no server, so your entries never reach us. See the privacy policy for the full picture.

How do I move to a new iPhone?

An encrypted iPhone-to-iPhone transfer or an encrypted Finder backup carries the data across automatically. If you would rather move it manually, turn on iCloud backup in Settings before you switch, then restore on the new device. You can also export a JSON backup and import it on the new phone.

Is my data backed up?

Only if you choose. iCloud backup is off by default. With it on, a copy is kept in your own private iCloud database. Independently of that, exporting a JSON backup periodically is a good habit — it is the one copy that does not depend on any service at all.

Why does it ask for Apple Health permission?

Only so it can write the samples you approve — period flow, basal body temperature, and ovulation tests. Read access is requested solely at the moment you tap Import to pull in period history you already have. You can decline either and keep using everything else.

How accurate are the predictions?

They improve as you log more cycles, and they are estimates throughout. Cycles vary for many reasons — stress, illness, travel, medication, and conditions like PCOS. A confidence indicator shows how settled your pattern is, but it should never be used as contraception or as a fertility guarantee.

Can I add symptoms that aren't included?

Yes. Create custom symptoms with their own intensity and timing, and they appear in your daily log and factor into pattern insights alongside the built-in ones.

How do I share my history with my doctor?

Settings has an export option that produces a clinician-friendly summary, plus CSV and full JSON. Everything goes through the iOS share sheet, so you decide where it lands.

How do I delete everything?

Settings includes a reset that clears all local data. If you had iCloud backup on, delete the backup there too. Removing the app deletes its local data along with it.

Is there a subscription?

No. Lusine is a one-time purchase of $4.99, and there are no in-app purchases, ads, or upsells.

Reporting a bug

Email with your device model, iOS version, app version (shown at the bottom of Settings), and the steps that trigger the problem. If it involves data loss, please don't reset the app before you write — we may be able to suggest a recovery path.
